The Seventh-day Adventist church in North America operates a system of more than 1,000 elementary and secondary schools and 15 colleges and universities. In the state of Hawaii there are 10 elementary schools and 1 secondary school.
The primary aim of the Seventh-day Adventist educational system is to educate the "head, the hand, and the heart," to provide opportunities for students to accept Christ as their Savior, and to experience the joy of service to others.
The education program is predicated on the belief that each student is unique and of inestimable value, and therefore, emphasis is placed on the development of the whole person. Students are educated to accept service as a way of life, to be sensitive to the needs of others, and to become active members of their church family.
